Namespaces
The Namespaces section covers namespace lifecycle and governance operations for application workloads.
Use these pages when you need to create a namespace, import an existing namespace into a project, update namespace governance settings, or remove or delete a namespace.
Choose the correct entry view
Namespace management can start from different views in the new web console, and the entry path determines the operational scope.
- Use the Applications view when the goal is project-scoped namespace management in a cluster already associated with the current project.
- Use the Clusters view when the goal is direct cluster-side namespace governance for a concrete cluster resource.
The Clusters view does not cover project-association workflows such as importing a namespace into a project or removing it from a project.
Main tasks
When you choose the target page, place the workflow guidance where the user performs the action:
- create guidance belongs in the creation page together with quota, limit range, and policy review
- import guidance belongs in the import page because it changes project governance expectations
- update guidance belongs in the update page beside quota, limit range, and security operations
- remove or delete guidance belongs in the removal page because project disassociation and resource deletion are different actions
